Itacho Sushi Indonesia

iJapanese food, especially sushi, always the thing that I fond of. And yes, another addition to this
kind of food excites me much. So when I got the invitation from this well-known Itacho sushi, I was more than pleased.

Itacho means Chief Chef in Japanese. Itacho itself is given to the person with the most sublime position in the kitchen. Itacho has opened its first door in Hongkong, and had 24 outlets in some parts of the world. Serving only high quality of sushi with affordable price, their store is known with their long queue of hungry people!:p

Inari salmon sushi. Inari has always been my favorite, and this one easily won my heart!

Sakura cheese roll and melted salmon sushi.
Both have grilled cheese on the top of the sushi, which was such a pleasant taste. Sakura cheese roll had generous fillings, just look at those fat cuts of crabstick and egg! Yum!

Fatty salmon sashimi.
Cuts of fresh salmon belly on a plate. It was thick, fresh, and quite heavy for me. But still, it was tasteful!

Tried the biggest unagi I've ever had, sea eel! They grilled it with sweet sauce which might be too sweet for some people. I personally loved it because I am a fond of sweet sauce. The unagi itself tasted great also!
Stuffed baked crab, on the other hand, was quite an enjoyable meal. Basically it was a crab shell filled with mixture of Japanese rice, crabstick, mushrooms, and grilled mayonaise. Sound tasty? Yes it was!

Colors on the plate. Beautiful, aren't they?

Sea urchin. This was actually my first time trying sea urchin. Melted sensation quite surprised me as soon as it hit my taste buds!

Salmon lobster salad. Thick salmon and pieces of lobster would neber fail, right?

Another piece of unagi. Thick and tasty, enough said.

Overall I was more than pleased for the meals. Everything was good and enjoyable. Anyway they are going to open for public today (26/2/15). They were really packed last night so service was quite slow though.
Congratulation for your opening party!  Best of luck! ;)

48 Signature Dimsum

Sunday dimsum has always been my favorite. A moment to spend with the family, time to catch up with all the gossips, and sharing what's-on-life-lately. My uncle and grand dad always pick their favorite dimsum place. And usually they did not try with something new, they did stick to the tradition.

Lately some dimsum place has been popping out everywhere, and I decided to give it a try. Sacrificing my usual favorite dimsum place, and hoping that this one could give me a satisfaction.

48 Dimsum at Pantai Indah Kapuk has its own corner. Located across the PIK market, this Chinese restaurant is quite spacious with strong Chinese ambiance around. Such a promising atmosphere to have Chines meal.

Pao with sweet salted egg filling. (25,8k)
Well, this one was everyone's favorite. Better have a really good one to serve this one because so many comparison out there. Theirs was surprisingly good. The size might be too small, and the bun was a little too thick compared with the filling. But the filling was good.

Steamed siewmay (28,8)
I found their siewmay was a bit' 'crunchy'. Tastewise, this one was quite good, but was not a perfect one. I had one better that this. But the fried chilly helped a lot!

Lomaikai with chicken (25,8)
Sticky glutinous rice with salted egg and chicken. Taste quite good, generous filling, but the size might be too small. (again!)

Fried shrimp wonton with mayonnaise (28k)
Crunchy and quite good. Nothing special on this one, though.

Overall the taste was quite good, but still could not beat my favorite dimsum in town. IMHO the size of everything was too small compared to the price. The service was way too slow (only 4 tables were seated), which was quite a turn off.

Dill Gourmet

Hello again peeps! I felt like years since I wrote my last blog. Like usual things and schedule got packed and blogging was surely the last thing in my mind. But I finished my anesthesiology cycle and moved on to public health, which means flexible schedule for me!

Okay so now I'm reviewing a little gem in the corner of Plaza Indonesia. Dill's gourmet caught my eyes since they opened the door years ago. But I just had the chance to give it a bite. I thought they only served coffee and ready-to-go food, but turned out they were already expanding.

Good ambiance with a domination of wooden interior. Simply comforting.

Chicken confit penne in soto cream (55k)
Well this one was something new for me. A plate of al dente penne with soto sauce, with cuts of tender chicken and cuts of boiled eggs. It was a brave combination for me, but turned out it was a good one!

Miso gindara with potato puree (95k)
Grilled gindara with bed of potato puree, asparagus, mushroom, and pinch of pesto sauce. Gindara tasted great, moist. and tasty. The potato was a great companion on the plate. Everything on it really complement each other. Such a winner!

Talking about dessert, they have many selection of pies and cakes. I treated myself with banana cream pie and loved it to the bits. The crust was giving me a perfect bite. It was buttery and thick, just like the way I loved it.

A cup of decent latte with tangerine pie. I love the freshness on the pie, the fact that they served it with orange on top to neutralize the sweetness from the chocolate crust. Love!

Overall Dill Gourmet is really a hidden gem for me. They might be in the small corner, but they served great food and pies! They had pressed juice and wide selections of pastry too! Gonna come back soon for sure.
